Every Pet, Every Time is coming to a town near you!

After last year’s phenomenally successful event, we’re delighted to be hitting the highway again this year to host an even bigger and better ‘Every Pet, Every Time’ road show. Here’s a sneaky peak at just some of what we’ve got in store.

Get value from your vitals

With nutrition now advocated by the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) as a vital assessment alongside temperature, respiration, pulse and pain, it’s becoming increasingly recognised as fundamental to the good health of our patients. Therefore, it makes sense that a nutritional evaluation and recommendation should form a standard part of every consultation for every pet. If you watched our recent weight webinar (don’t miss the highlights elsewhere in this newsletter) then you’ll know that 90 % of owners would like a nutritional recommendation. However, only 15 % perceive that they actually receive one. This means that by simply making a nutritional recommendation for Every Pet, Every Time (EPET), there is huge potential for improving customer satisfaction.

Improve your customer journey

This is the focus of our eagerly-awaited EPET road show which will equip delegates with ways to implement their recommendations, and ensure clients, pets and their practice all experience the benefits. Together with our expert Hill’s team, Alison Lambert BVSc MMRS MRCVS, will lead a series of talks and workshops on a client-focussed approach to nutrition and how best to put it into action. Alison says she enjoyed last year’s event so much, she can’t wait to get back out on the road, “The EPET Road show sessions are high paced, with high energy and really focus on how to connect the customer journey to business reality – it really is great fun and it’s free!”

As well as a jam-packed day of fun and learning, the road show offers a great chance to catch up with friends and colleagues, swap stories and share experiences – not to mention eat a delicious buffet lunch. Online CPD is great, but it’s still nice to get your fill of fun, face-to-face time now and then, without having to undertake a mammoth journey. And especially to get to grips with such an interactive topic. By focussing on nutritional recommendations and adopting the EPET ethos, you can really improve the customer journey and progress your practice’s pet health care standards.

Putting theory into practice

Last year’s EPET road show left a lasting impression with one of the participants, Bruce Barker MRCVS of Rogers, Brock and Barker Veterinary Practice. “The day was brilliant for my whole team; we learned about Weigh-Score-Recommend with lots of real-life examples and practical tips to help us implement new strategies for weight management back in the practice. It’s always good to refresh your skills and knowledge and the EPET road shows are a great way to do just that.”

The free EPET road shows are visiting venues across the UK and Ireland from March to May and run from 9am – 5pm. They are aimed at vets, nurses and senior receptionists and will encourage a team approach to excellent client care. So, to get the know-how on all things nutritional and learn how to master the art of making top-notch recommendations, talk to your Hill’s Veterinary Territory Manager to secure your space. You’ll be given a secure passcode to enter into the Hill’s dedicated site, which will allow you to complete the booking process. Equivalent training would cost £750 per delegate so this really is one opportunity you can’t afford to miss.

Leading the way at BSAVA

If you’re anything like us then you’ll have been looking forward to BSAVA Congress all year and with just a few weeks to go, it’s time to start getting really excited. We won’t spoil the surprise but here’s a hint of what there is to look forward to from Hill’s.

Redefining ‘social’

Congress is a great time to touch base with old friends, make new acquaintances and enjoy catching up on CPD in the company of others. As with many things in life, it’s all about staying social and keeping connected. With this in mind, we’ve lined up something a bit special which is sure to be a highlight of the event. So if you spend your life on the net, can’t live without social media or delight in anything digital, don’t miss our fun surprise that will be sure to have you giggling and getting creative.

Treats and challenges

In true Hill’s style, a visit to our stand won’t leave you empty-handed (or with an empty stomach). As well as our much-coveted competition prizes, we’ve gone up-market with some rather special foodie treats. So whether you fancy chancing your luck in our fun contest to win some seriously cool prizes or just want to stock up on some sumptuous luxuries to sustain you on your congress adventures, we’ve got it covered.

While you are refuelling, why not take the chance to get an update on current advances in nutrition or some tips on how to make your nutritional recommendations work for you? Our friendly team are always happy to chat or answer any specific queries. We’ve got tons of great ideas for you to take home to your practice – you might be amazed at how two minutes of chin-wagging with one of our team members can help transform your future recommendations to your clients.

Keeping it light

As obesity tops the scales of health problems in pets, weight management is becoming an increasingly important (and challenging) aspect of veterinary practice for the whole team. That’s why we are delighted to be able to help simplify the process with our range of innovative diets and weight management tools, specifically tailored to help keep pets on the ‘slim and narrow’.

Taking centre stage on our stand at BSAVA Congress this year will be our revolutionary Metabolic range. Metabolic was designed to reduce the need to precisely measure portion sizes in order to achieve a healthy weight loss, helping with owner compliance. It’s also clinically proven to prevent weight regain helping you to see lasting results.

So whether you’re after tips for clinical success, satisfaction for your competitive streak, a social catch-up, or just want a natter with our nutritional experts, your congress experience won’t be complete without a visit to the Hill’s stand. Drop by stand 215 to make sure you don’t miss out.

Crack down on FLUTD without compromise

FLUTD can be an extremely tricky condition to treat with the need to address a number of complex interacting factors. Our new c/d™ Urinary Stress Reduced Calorie diet means that weight management doesn’t have to be compromised when focusing on FLUTD.

Reducing the risks

Feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) is one of the most common reasons1 for veterinary consultations in cats but can be a notoriously tricky condition to manage, not least due to the number of possible underlying causes such as gender, stress and obesity.2 While we may not be able to do much about whether the cat was born male or female, our new Prescription Diet c/d™ Urinary Stress Reduced Calorie has got the other two covered. Designed to control stress and address weight management, the novel reduced calorie diet is ideal for cats with FLUTD that are prone to putting on the pounds.

A stress-free solution

c/d™ Urinary Stress Reduced Calorie is clinically proven to reduce the recurrence of FLUTD signs as well as dissolve struvite stones.3 With controlled sodium, magnesium, and phosphorus levels to promote bladder health, sources of L-tryptophan to target stress, high levels of omega-3 fatty acids to support urinary heath, and added glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) to boost bladder lining repair, there’s no need to compromise when addressing potential causes of the disease through diet.

What’s more, it’s ideal for long-term feeding and for multi-cat households, helping you to deal with potential compliance issues and achieve lasting success. Available in a range of delicious wet and dry formulations, there’s sure to be a combination to satisfy even the fussiest feline.
